Defence School Mentor Program

At Baranduda Primary School, we are proud of our rich tradition of supporting Australian Defence Force (ADF) families. With a strong connection to the ADF community, we understand the unique challenges faced by Defence families and are committed to providing a welcoming and supportive environment for your child’s educational journey.Our Defence School Mentor (DSM) plays a vital role in ensuring that ADF children thrive, no matter where they are on their school journey. Funded by the Department of Defence through Defence Member and Family Support (DMFS), our DSM is an integral part of our school team. They work closely with families to provide:Smooth Transitions: Whether your family is posting in or out, our DSM ensures that your child feels settled and supported as they adjust to a new school environment.
Deployment Support: During periods of parental absence due to deployment, exercises, or courses, our DSM offers guidance and reassurance to help students feel connected and cared for.
Community Building: We foster a sense of belonging through programs and activities that bring Defence families together, ensuring that no one feels isolated.At Baranduda Primary, we celebrate the resilience and unique contributions of our Defence families.
